These are the rules for using Svibe. Most of them come down to one thing: this is a campus, other people are on it, and you do not get to make it worse for them.
This is an agreement between you and Ivan Seredkin, who makes Svibe. Creating an account means you accept it. If you do not accept it, do not create one.
You need to be at least 16. One account per person. Do not make an account for somebody else and do not use somebody else's. Whatever happens under your login is your responsibility, so keep your password to yourself.
Svibe exists so students can share music with the people around them. Almost everything follows from that, and you probably do not need a list. But some things have to be written down plainly, because these are the ones we act on.
That list is not an invitation to find the gaps in it. If something is clearly meant to hurt somebody and is not written above, it is still not allowed.
We can remove content, hide it, suspend an account or delete one, with or without warning, depending on what happened. For the worst items on that list there is no warning and no second account.
Every report gets looked at, and we act within 24 hours.
You can report anything a person made, from the thing itself. Press and hold a message in a chat or a room. Press and hold a track card on the board or in a room, then tap Report. For a username or a profile photo, open that person's profile. Enough separate reports hide something automatically while we look at it. If it is urgent, or somebody's safety is involved, email support@svibe.live instead of waiting.
You can also block. Open their profile, tap Block, and they can no longer contact you. It takes effect at once and it drops any friendship in both directions. There is currently no way to undo it from inside the app, so write to us if you change your mind.
What you post is yours. We do not claim to own it.
What we need is permission to store it and show it to the people you aimed it at: your campus board, a room you added it to, the conversation you sent it in. That permission is limited to running and improving Svibe, it is not exclusive, and it costs you nothing. It ends when you delete the content or the account, apart from copies other people already hold in their own conversations.
You are promising that what you post is yours to post.
Svibe does not host, sell, stream or store music. Songs play through Apple Music, on your own subscription, on your own device. Without an active subscription you can still browse, vote, post, message and use rooms. Songs just will not play.
Svibe plays the Apple Music catalogue as it is, which includes tracks with explicit lyrics. We do not edit them and we do not filter them by language.
You cannot download, record or save audio out of Svibe, and attempting it is one of the things in the list above. Song titles, artist names and cover art come from Apple's catalogue and belong to their owners. Apple Music is Apple's service with its own terms, we are not part of that arrangement, and we receive nothing from it.
Svibe is free. There is one optional purchase, the Studio pack, which unlocks cosmetic styles. It is a single payment through the App Store, not a subscription, and nothing recurring is ever charged.
Notes are the currency inside the app. You earn them by using Svibe. They cannot be bought, they are not money, they have no cash value, and they cannot be transferred or refunded.
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. Ask Apple, not us. Deleting your Svibe account does not refund anything, and the purchase stays attached to your Apple ID, so you can restore it if you come back.
New accounts start on a campus called Svibe Campus. The people on it and the activity on it are made up by us, so that a new account has a full board to learn on instead of an empty one. The app labels it as a simulated campus wherever you choose it. The music on it is real, and it really plays.
Some accounts on Svibe are curated accounts that we run ourselves to post music. They are not real individuals and they do not pretend to be.
You can switch to your real campus whenever you like.
Svibe is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, always be free of bugs, or always work the way it does today. Features may change or go away.
We are not responsible for what other people post. We moderate and we act on reports, but we do not read everything before it appears.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is capped at whatever you have paid us, which for almost everyone is nothing. Nothing here removes a right you hold by law that cannot be signed away.
You can leave whenever you like. Profile, scroll to the bottom, Delete Account. Exactly what that removes is set out in the Privacy Policy.
We can close an account that breaks these terms. If we close yours for any other reason, we will tell you why.
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect and the date at the top will move. Carrying on using Svibe after that means you accept the new version.
Svibe is run from California. These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, without regard to its rules on conflict of laws, and a dispute that cannot be settled between us goes to the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California.
If you live somewhere that gives you the right to bring a claim in your own local courts, this does not take that away.
